Fashion Week Features a Variety of Week-long Fun Events

PALM DESERT, Calif., March 11 /PRNewswire/ -- The fifth annual Fashion Week El Paseo in Palm Desert will feature a new component to its focus: Fashion, Food & Wine (March 22-28, 2010). With more than 50 participating merchants holding in-store events such as trunk shows, informal modeling, fashion seminars, hors d'oeuvres, refreshments and more, Fashion Week El Paseo has become one of Southern California's most popular annual events.

Some program highlights:

Saturday, March 20 – March 22:  The Shops on El Paseo Trunk Show – Retailers at the desert's premier shopping destination will participate.

Sunday, March 21:  El Paseo Fashion's Day Out - Music, wine, hors d'oeuvres , demonstrations and much more.  

Monday, March 22: Runway Bar El Paseo Fashion Show featuring designs from 15 top El Paseo stores.

Tuesday, March 23: ASID Project Runway features ASID-member interior designers with celebrity judges Cheryl Tiegs and Kathy Ireland.

Wednesday, March 24: Fashion designers from around the world converge on El Paseo for an evening of international fashion adventure.

Thursday, March 25: Top graduating students of the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) present their collections in the West Coast design juggernaut Debut 2010.

Friday, March 26: Men's Night will showcase the men's line of Jamie Paul Holahan, the featured men's designer of the week.

Saturday, March 27:

• Fine Dining and Premium Wine Tasting featuring 10 celebrity chef demonstrations, 35 of the top fine dining restaurants from throughout Southern California, and more than 40 premium wine and champagne purveyors.
• Designer of the Week Fashion Show – the highlight and signature event of Fashion Week will feature couture designer Colleen Quen.

Sunday, March 28: Live Fire Grilling and Wine and Microbrewery Tasting with the Food Network's Build a Better Burger Contest featuring 10 celebrity chef demonstrations.
