On Thursday, May 1, 2008, the American Security Project's Board of
Directors will release a keystone document that provides the framework for
a bipartisan approach to the nation's most critical national security
issues, including terrorism, energy security, climate change and nuclear
proliferation.
ASP President and Chair Senator Gary Hart will be joined by former
administration officials, political leaders and retired senior military
officers who are also ASP board members to discuss the importance of
transforming our national security to meet the challenges of a new
international environment in which American leadership must consist of more
than military power alone.
The American Security Project created "A New American Arsenal" to
demonstrate that thoughtful, bipartisan cooperation on national security is
possible, even during an election year. In the coming months, the group
plans to take its message to the American public to spur rational and
constructive dialogue about the future of American security and our role in
the world.
