The Clorox Company to Provide Free Flu Shots in Los Angeles
Major event will vaccinate 1,500 on October 21st and includes keynote speaker Dr. Aliza
LOS ANGELES, Oct. 13 /PRNewswire/ --
WHAT: In a major effort to help prevent the seasonal flu, The Clorox
Company will host a free flu clinic at the South Central Family
Health Center (SCFHC) in South Central Los Angeles. The event is
part of the company's national effort, Pon el Virus de la Gripe
Fuera de Accion (Take the flu virus out of action).
This seasonal flu vaccination event is open to the entire
community and will provide 1,500 seasonal flu vaccines from
10:00am - 3:00pm to both adults and children. Dra.
Aliza Lifshitz, a nationally recognized health expert and
internist at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, will be on hand to
answer questions and provide direct advice to help families have
a healthier flu season. Entertainment, such as face painters,
coloring stations and balloon makers, is available making this an
event for the whole family.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that
all children ages 6 months to 18 years and their caregivers be
vaccinated for the seasonal flu and then the H1N1 virus when the
vaccine is generally available.
