The exhibition of KORMARINE 2013 unveiled, the largest scale ever
SEOUL, South Korea, Oct. 24, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- KORMARINE 2013 was held today by MOTIE (Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy), Busan City, KOSHIPA, KOMEA, K. FAIRS, REED EXHIBITIONS, and KAMI. It will last 4 days from 22 to 25 Oct. at 1st and 2nd exhibition centers of BEXCO.
KORMARINE started in 1980 and this is its 18th KORMARINE. It has grown to be an exhibition specialized in shipbuilding and offshore plant. Today's exhibition was held with 45 countries, 1200 companies, and 1850 booths. 13 countries including the UK, Germany, Holland, Norway, Finland, and Japan (first for last 6 years).
This year's KORMARINE (www.kormarine.com) could be largely divided into exhibition and conference. The exhibition recorded about 30% growth than previous year. Major shipment & offshore plant companies such as Hyundai, Daewoo, and STX participated in this exhibition. Some big equipment or facilities, such as GE, Siemens, ABB, Schneider, Bosch, Wartsila, and Alfalaval, as well as many domestic major equipment or facilities, such as KCC, KT, Techcross, BIP, and SAMYUNG ENC participated, too.
Along with HMD and HSHI, HHI participates in this exhibition with one of the largest booth scale of 270SQ, and reveals various products on offshore plant and ship building.
DSME, the first-timer of this event, exhibits its 7 new products such as drill ship, LNG-FPSO, FPSO, and fixed platform (FP), including three kinds of merchant ships like LNG carrier, LNG-FSRU, and fuel propulsion container ship (13,500teu).
KTsat, a firm divided from KT, introduces satellite system for ship, device for satellite system, ship network, and satellite solution. Siemens will reveal drive solutions such as EcoProp, Cargo, Offshore, WHRS (Waste Heat Recovery System), and EcoMain. GE shows LM 2500, Bently Nevada Condition Monitoring System, Druck DPI620Genii, Aurora Trace, Panaflow HT, LCT, and Dresser Valves (Masoneilan Control & Consolidated Safety) in terms of oil & gas fields and its recent marine field innovation in terms of power conversion.
There are some events held at the same time: Ballast 2013 by IMO (International Maritime Organization), KOMEA forum, ISMT, and technical seminars with participants of more than 30 companies. Export counseling of KORMARINE will be held at Convention Hall on Oct. 23th. During the exhibition, many embassies and shipbuilding-related companies hold welcome reception at BEXCO, Haeundae-gu.
KORMARINE 2013 is cohosted with SEA-PORT and NAVAL & DEFENCE of MARINE WEEK 2013 with Hur Nam-sik, Mayor of Busan Metropolitan City, Han Duck-soo, Chairman & CEO of KITA, and Hwang Gi-cheol, the chief of naval operations as well as many ministers and vice-ministers from MOTIE, Ministry of National Defense, and Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries. KORMARINE CONFERENCE 2013 is held from 23 to 24, Oct. for the first time. Its concept is world-class offshore plant conference with the coalition of shipping finances, shipping firms, shipyards, tools and materials companies of shipbuilding & marine, IMO, ship classification associations, universities, laboratories, public institutions, and the media. Among them, there are KOSHIPA (one of the top 3 hosts of KORMARINE exhibitions), K.Fairs, KR, BEPA, BIFC, KOSHA, and KOSME.
This conference consists of 8 sub-sessions of shipbuilding and offshore plant. About 700 participants including 30 experts and speakers from around the world will participate.
