The Fremont Street Experience Gears Up for a Month Long Country/Holiday Celebration

LAS VEGAS, Nov. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Since opening in December of 1995, the
Fremont Street Experience has become an internationally acclaimed
entertainment venue as host to a wide variety of successful events and
festivals, ranging from Mardi Gras to Cinco de Mayo, attracting thousand of
 locals and tourists alike.
Beginning December 1, the Fremont Street Experience will continue that
trend with the kick-off of a 26-day Country/Holiday Festival, with the
Official City of Las Vegas tree lighting ceremony. The ceremony begins at
5:30 PM at Third and Fremont with performances by The Nevada Symphonic Wind
Ensemble, the annual March of the Toy Soldiers featuring two new country
characters, and a special appearance by Santa Claus. Plus, City officials
will be on hand to partake in the festivities. The lighting of the tree will
take place following the 6:00 PM showing of the "Holiday Lights" light and
 sound show.
The festival will continue throughout the month with a variety of country
and holiday themed elements including the 11th Annual Downtown Hoedown on
Thursday, December 4, from 5:00 PM - 11:00 PM, featuring Nashville recording
artists Ricochet, winners of the Academy of Country Music's Top New Vocal
Group of the Year Award. Opening for Ricochet is the twin sister duo Moore &
Moore. The Downtown Hoedown is the biggest party kicking off the National
Finals Rodeo. There will be additional entertainment by local musician Katie
Kern, and the Fremont Street Experience member property casino/hotels will
sell a variety of food and drinks. Reno Air is the official airline of the
 11th Annual Downtown Hoedown.
Following the Downtown Hoedown, the Fremont Street Experience will join
forces with Binion's Horseshoe for the first ever Downtown Rodeo Stampede
December 5-14, with live entertainment by David Jones & the Kern River Band,
Joanie Keller, and Tony Marques & Sweet Justice, and a delicious Texas Deep
Pit Barbecue, all in conjunction with the ten days of the National Finals
 Rodeo.
Presented by Las Vegas Events, the Country/Holiday Festival will then
continue through December 26 with a variety of live entertainment, the daily
March of the Toy Soldiers and weekend visits by Santa.
In addition, the Fremont Street Experience light and sound shows will be
presented nightly, every hour on the hour beginning at dusk and running until
 midnight.

Hoedown or Downtown Rodeo Stampede, and there is plenty of free parking in the
