    LAS VEGAS, July 8 /PRNewswire/ -- The Fremont Street Experience will host
 a Fabulous 50's celebration on Friday, July 11 from 7:00 PM - 11:00 PM, and
 Saturday, July 12 from 1:00 PM - 11:00 PM.
     Featured at the event on Friday night will be Rock and Roll Hall of
 Famers, The Coasters, whose numerous hit songs, including Yakety Yak and
 Charlie Brown, have led them to be labeled as the supreme comedians of rock
 and roll.
     The legendary Platters, whose famous hits such as The Great Pretender,
 catapulted them into fame in the 1950's, will highlight Saturday night's
     Also performing throughout this two-day event are musical groups Lil' Elmo
 & The Cosmos, SH Boom, Rock Around the Clock, Front Page News and Heart N'
 Soul.  Plus a "main" light and sound show themed to the 1950's will play
 overhead on the world's largest electronic display, and Fremont Street
 Experience casino/hotels will sell 50's era food along the mall.  Other
 features will include classic cars on display, strolling entertainers and

 the Third Street Stage from 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM.  Registration will take place
 Friday from 7:00 PM - 11:00 PM, and Saturday from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM.  Fifty
 entries will be accepted and there will be a grand prize winner plus first,
 second and third place runners up.  An award will also be given for the best
 costume or 50's attire worn by a contestant.  Prizes are being provided by the
 Fremont Street Experience, Coca Cola USA, Fuji Film, Decor Imports, Rice To
 Read, Threadz, Linda Ray's Gifts, Animal World, Krazee Hats, Linebacks, Dr.
 Yo, Jewels of the Nile, Goldfathers, Silver Ridge Cigars and Nationalities.
     Every hour on the hour, beginning at dusk, the Fremont Street Experience
 light and sound shows, derived from over 2 million lights and 540,000 watts of
 concert quality sound, will come alive in the massive 90 foot high, 1400 foot
 long space frame structure.
     In addition to offering a variety of special events, the Fremont Street
 Experience is home to 35 restaurants, 5 buffets, 10,000 slot machines and an
 amazing light and sound show unlike any other in the world.  The Fremont
 Street Experience casino/hotels have been named as "America's Loosest Slots"
 three years in a row by Casino Player Magazine due to over $26 million dollars
 that Fremont Street Experience casinos pay out daily.
     There is no admission fee for the Fabulous 50's celebration and the first
 five hours of parking are free in the Fremont Street Experience Parking Plaza,
 with validation at participating hotel/casinos.
