"The Games End" is a Hollywood and African novel about Ahmed, a massive tusk elephant in Kenya who captivated Hollywood throughout the 1950's and 1970's. (Ahmed is stuffed and stands in front of the Nairobi Museum in Kenya . Former President Kenyatta issued a degree to protect him when he was alive). The film story is a "Moby Dick" theme played out with the great elephant Ahmed, that captures the adventure and romance of its cast as they find themselves in the African bush to save the game, but running into opposition every way they turn. Eighteen-year-old ASTRID, a Tanzanian, and MOLO, her African helper, find her pet elephant dead in a poachers trap. She becomes hysterical captures the poacher, and puts him in his trap and leaves.
First, it was the droughts that was killing the elephant herds in the seventies, and then the Japanese in the eighties and now it's the Chinese responsible for poaching the elephants in Africa . A hundred thousand were killed last year for their ivory. Very soon, we will only find them in zoos. Is this a tragedy? Look up my website: www.thegamesendnovel.com and see stay updated.

"National treasure is a status that won't protect one from greed. "The Games End" is a novel about Ahmed, a massive tusk elephant in Kenya who captivated Hollywood throughout the 50′s through 1970′s. Although he was ordered to be protected from hunters, the allure of this giant prize would not protect him from those who only saw only dollar signs. "The Games End" is a riveting novel of adventure, highly recommended." -A Review from the Midwest Book Review of "The Games End" by William Louis Gradner
"William Louis Gardner has written a powerful, thrilling and engaging novel that brilliantly explores the endangered elephant herds of Africa." -Martha Smilgis Executive Producer of Extra"William Louis Gardner is a storyteller par excellence. I simply could NOT put this book down. Based on the true story of "Ahmed", a legendary African tusked elephant, he is recorded as one of the largest and most majestic of the species. This book recounts the illegal slaughter of countless elephants for precious ivory tusks. Gardner has woven an exciting tale of intrigue, romance and the pervasive cruelty and greed that permeates the African culture to this day.Tightly written in short explosive chapters, this book describes the complexity and hardship endured by those seeking to protect these unique animals. Based on existing conditions, the reader is transported to the very heart of the Kenyan society and their frustrating efforts to control this "invasion of destruction".This battle for survival, joined by the protagonist, Astrid, follows her extraordinary efforts to gain the upper hand in this never-ending struggle."The Games End" is an entertaining and enlightening read. It is truly a page-turner! It has my hearty recommendation." - George B. Levine P.H.D.
"In William Gardner's new book he puts you in the Picture! But hopefully there will be a sequel." -Samuel Carson
