The Latino Coalition Announces Expanded Partnership with Herbalife to Further Advance Latino Entreprenuers Angela Maria Arboleda, Herbalife's Vice President of Government and Community Affairs, Joins Corporate Advisory Board
WASHINGTON, May 6, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Latino Coalition ("TLC"), a leading advocate for Latino-owned, small and medium-sized businesses with a network of more than 65 organizations in various states across the country, announced today a significant partnership with Herbalife to help foster economic empowerment and financial independence within the Latino community.
The Latino Coalition believes in building bridges that will grant access to economic development and entrepreneurial opportunities for the Latino community. By expanding its partnership with Herbalife, TLC will have support as it continues to advocate on behalf of Latino business owners in the United States, provide them with important resources, and advance their overall well-being. TLC and Herbalife will co-host two small business summits this year – one in Los Angeles and one in Washington D.C – designed to empower and equip entrepreneurs with the information and resources needed to succeed.
"We are pleased to expand our partnership with Herbalife, which shares our commitment to growing and developing the Latino community economically," said Hector Barreto, TLC's Chairman and Former Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration. "As an organization that gives voice to small business nationwide and addresses policy issues that directly affect the well-being of Hispanics across the nation, the partnership between our organization and Herbalife is a natural fit. We look forward to a long and successful partnership."
TLC also announced today that Angela Maria Arboleda, Herbalife's Vice President of Government and Community Affairs, will be joining the Coalition's Corporate Advisory Board, which is comprised of corporations who share its commitment to Latino entrepreneurs.
Mr. Barreto continued, "We are excited to welcome Angela to our Corporate Advisory Board and we look forward to benefitting from her extensive experience working to improve the lives of Latinos in government and the non-profit sector."
"Herbalife is proud to expand its partnership with the Latino Coalition and we are honored to serve on the Coalition's Corporate Advisory Board," said Ms. Arboleda. "This partnership helps ensure that the views of our Latino members – in addition to millions of other Latino business owners – are heard on a national level and that they have the support they need to succeed. Herbalife is proud of its commitment to the Latino community and we look forward to working with The Latino Coalition."
