NEW YORK, Sept. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- On the heels of its just-launched
original hit series SLAMBALL and OBLIVIOUS, The New TNN has picked up 40
episodes of TABOO, a brand-new, half-hour game show set to premiere in first
quarter 2003. Produced for The New TNN by Radio...With Pictures, TABOO is
based on the popular Hasbro board game which was created by Brian Hersch and
has sold more than 14 million copies. The announcement was made by Albie
Hecht, President of Film and Television Entertainment, Nickelodeon, TV Land
 and The New TNN.
TABOO is the ultimate Gen-X game show, where contestants try to guess
words based on a series of verbal clues. Players giving the clues cannot say
any of the "taboo" words. As an example, if the secret word is "Thong," the
contestant can't say "Swimsuit," "Wedgie," "Cheeks" or "Sexy." If contestants
use any of the "taboo" words they're penalized. Players must get their
teammates to guess as many words as possible within 60 seconds, and the team
that guesses the most words wins. During the danger round, contestants also
are subjected to comedic penalties courtesy of host Chris Wylde.
"Anyone who has played TABOO knows just how addictive this game is," said
Hecht. "TABOO is the ultimate Gen-X game show - a non-stop party full of
unpredictable comedy that plays perfectly to The New TNN's young-adult
Zany and quick-witted actor Chris Wylde serves as host of TABOO. Wylde has

He also has appeared in numerous feature films, including "Space Cowboys,"
"Coyote Ugly," "Evolution" and "Joe Dirt."
