The Newly Designed Impala Hotel Delivers Mediterranean Chic to Miami Beach

Recently acquired by Ange and Anthony Santini of Corsica, a preserved, French Island anchored in the Mediterranean Sea, the Impala Hotel is their vision realized of the ideal Mediterranean home transported onto Miami Beach's chicest block. The Impala is nestled amongst luxury fashion's sanctuary, The Webster and Impala Hotel's Zagat adored Italian eatery, Spiga. The redesign of the historic space calls upon Italy's beachside in its decor, high fashion in its art and the ultimate relaxation in its thoughtful details.

The new design of the Impala is deeply inspired by the beach and cliff side hotels found along Italy's Amalfi Coast and is the artistic vision of trendsetting, global interior designer, Barrie Livingstone, a pioneer of Miami Beach's design renaissance. Livingstone pays homage to the elements of the Mediterranean with sultry hues of yellow, gold, orange and pale blues seen throughout the luxury infused Impala hotel. The hidden entryway of the hotel leads guests into a tranquil coral rock courtyard that features a fountain that Livingstone modeled after a grotto he admired in Capri. Upon entering the open lobby, guests' eyes are drawn to a mural of the arresting Empress Theodora designed by fashion icon, Christian LaCroix. As they look down they are standing on an Italian Floor mosaic of the sun that was originally intended for the Versace Mansion, a gift to the Impala by the late Gianni Versace. The Impala Hotel features 17 enchanting rooms each distinct in design and detail including carved fruitwood and upholstered Florentine style headboards wrought iron and coral rock vanities, brass and Murano glass fixtures and a grand suite with cathedral ceilings and a charming balcony. The Santini Family's desire for an environmentally sound space was carried out by Livingstone through several features within the hotel including the eucalyptus thread, hypoallergenic bedding, water conserving fixtures and non chemical wall treatments. It's these details that work in harmony to create an eco – friendly environment that all guests can enjoy. 

Since 1931, the Impala Hotel has been a beacon of informal sophistication for Miami Beach. The newly designed, historic space continues that tradition with an updated modernized twist on relaxed, beachside glamour for travelers in search of a romantic escape.
