DALLAS, April 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Churches across North Texas will open
their doors to thousands of people going to service on Easter Sunday.
Members and first-time visitors alike will attend church on the busiest
religious day on the Christian and Jewish calendars. Bishop T.D. Jakes,
senior pastor of the 30,000-member congregation, The Potter's House, has a
global following and will open its church doors to them, as the service
will be simulcast in London, Toronto and Swaziland.
"This is the most important day of the year to many people of faith,
and we have an obligation to broadcast this timeless message of rebirth and
restoration to all men and women," said Jakes speaking of the reason
reaching out to various locations. "We live in a time of great religious
and cultural division. Now is a time where people of all faiths should not
focus on that which divides us, but rather that which unites us and
provides us our own rebirth."
Churches that will receive the live uplink and simulcast are Glory
House in London, England, Kingdom Covenant Ministries in Toronto, Ontario,
Canada and Jesus Calls Worship Center in Swaziland, Africa.
The live uplink will only be available for the early service to respect
the various time zones. Church services at The Potter's House begin
promptly at a special time, 7:30 a.m., and its usual 11:30 a.m. time.
Capacity is expected to surpass seating, so church officials stress
arriving early and have asked that all congregants and visitors dress down
and be ready to enjoy a celebratory service.
