The Society of Pharmaceutical and Biotech Trainers Announces John Sjovall as New Board President
ROANOKE, Va., Oct. 28, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- The Society of Pharmaceutical and Biotech Trainers (SPBT) announced John P. Sjovall Jr. has been elected as new board president, effective January 2014. Sjovall brings more than 20 years of healthcare industry experience including pharmaceutical field sales and sales management, training, strategic planning, and operations. He is currently executive director of sales training & development for Daiichi Sankyo, Inc.
Sjovall has been a valued SPBT member since 2004, joined the SPBT Board in 2008 and became treasurer in 2009. He served on the editorial board of the Pharmaceutical Representative Magazine, authored several articles, including SPBT's Focus magazine, and is a reoccurring guest lecturer at the Rutgers Pharmaceutical MBA program. He has also been a guest speaker, moderator, and panelist at numerous conferences and webinars hosted by various organizations, including: Society of Pharmaceutical and Biotech Trainers, Pharmaceutical Executive, PharmaForce, and Drug Information Association.
During his two-year term as president, Sjovall will lead the SPBT Board in crafting and implementing a strategic plan that will enhance the Society's value to all life science trainers and will ultimately grow membership.

John succeeds Carol Wells, senior director, commercial training & development for Genentech, whose term as president will expire after serving two years.
