The South Gate Society School of Creative Writing Opens in Denmark The only four-year creative writing program in Scandinavia!
AALBORG, Denmark, March 17, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- The South Gate Society Arts Center is opening the first four-year Creative Writing School in Denmark in August 2015 and is looking for supporters and patrons of this unique initiative.
The Creative Writing School has developed a higher education curriculum commensurate with esteemed university literature departments worldwide who now offer degrees in Creative Writing; a discipline that has become decidedly professionalized throughout academia.
Seven programs will be offered: Fiction, Nonfiction, Poetry, Screenwriting, Children's Literature, Playwriting, and Media Communications.
The Creative Writing School will also host Artists in Residence who will work on completing projects during their stay, while also conducting classes or workshops with the students. Novelists, poets, and other award-winning writers have already expressed interest in the program and their enthusiasm to participate!
The curriculum is rigorous and combines the study of traditional literature and contemporary genres, while also incorporating classes in the craft of writing, and integrates a unique entrepreneurial approach by integrating the art of writing with the business of art.
The program endeavors to not only inspire writers to write, but to publish, to connect with agents, and to graduate from the school with careers in the field of writing.
Currently, the school is raising funds to purchase school property and hopes to secure gifts of both monetary and product value, as well as setting up scholarship funds for prospective students. You are invited to become an appreciated part of this inspirational project. Become a sponsor of the School of Creative Writing!
