LAKE PLACID, N.Y., Feb. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Lake Placid, New York is the site of two former Winter Olympics -- 1932 and 1980.

Many agree that one of the most historically significant sporting events, called "The Miracle on Ice," occurred when the 1980 US Men's Olympic Hockey Team defeated the Soviet Team in a medal-round victory on February 22, 1980.

In commemoration, The Whiteface Lodge launched several new programs.

On Monday, February 22, 2010 – the 30th anniversary of the "Miracle on Ice" – Kanu and The Kanu Lounge will offer all entrees at a commemorative price of $19.80 each. Entrees will include Grilled Venison Loin, Roasted Half Long Island Duck and Tuna Two Ways. (The promotion will occur only on February 22 and does not include tapas or beverages).

"$1980 Miracles and Memories" Package

The "$1980 Miracles and Memories" Package features two nights in a two-bedroom suite; gratis daily breakfast; four complimentary "Olympic Site Passports" via Lake Placid's Olympic Regional Development Authority (ORDA) offering:

• A gondola ride at Whiteface Mountain
• Visiting Lake Placid's "Olympic Center"
• Touring Lake Placid's Olympic Jumping Complex
• Skating on Lake Placid's Olympic Speed Skating Oval where Eric Heiden won five gold medals at the 1980 Winter Olympics
