November 12, 2013 (Los Angeles) Women's Image Network, (WIN) announces The WIN Awards 2013 honorees Cecilia DeMille Presley, Ambassador Swanee Hunt and Rosalind Jarrett Sepulveda.
On Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at The Santa Monica Bay Woman's Club, Women's Image Network, (WIN), presents Ambassador Swanee Hunt its Humanitarian tribute, Cecilia DeMille Presley its Living Legend tribute and its inaugural Special Achievement tribute to Rosalind Jarrett Sepulveda.
Moreover, the same evening WIN celebrates its illustrious honorees, The WIN Awards will also applaud over 85 nominated television and film, directors, writers, producers and artists who compete in fifteen WIN Awards categories. A sample of WIN 2013 nominees are: Sandra Bullock, Judi Dench, Cloris Leachman, Queen Latifah, Joan Rivers, Cher, Khloé Kardashian, Zooey Deschanel, Mary J. Blige, Keri Russell, Jessica Lange, Oprah Winfrey andKerry Washington.
According to WIN Founder, Phyllis Stuart "The WIN Awards advance gender parity by honoring both male and female media artists who create dimensional female media images. The WIN Awards exist because to the extent that women's voices remain silent we are all robbed of the contribution. Until women and girls are liberated from poverty and injustice, world peace and sustainable development remain in jeopardy".
Of her WIN honor Living Legend Honoree, Cecilia DeMille Presley, said "My grandfather, Cecil De Mille, was a great believer in the artistic value of women. He was famous for hiring women screen writers, researchers and assistant directors, in all facets of film, from the first silent films on. He taught me the value of being a woman, and an activist".
The wider world might not know that Humanitarian Honoree, Ambassador Swanee Hunt, grew up singing, dancing, composing, and acting in her native Texas: her oil magnate father H.L. Hunt, required show tunes for after dinner entertainment, her sister June directed neighborhood productions, and her mother, a life-guiding lead, encouraged hymns and harmony. Ambassador Hunt shares WIN's goals and for fifteen years, has fought sex trafficking saying, "I envision a world in which every person is valued. No lives are discarded as statistics. No one is marginalized." Moreover, in 2005, Swanee Hunt and her sister Helen LaKelly Hunt galvanized female donors, inspiring bolder levels of giving through Women Moving Millions, a pioneering approach to philanthropy through which nearly 200 donors have pledged hundreds of millions of dollars to organizations and initiatives that support women and girls worldwide.
WIN presents its inaugural Special Achievement tribute to Rosalind Jarrett Sepulveda, the Screen Actors Guild Awards® publicity executive. Of her WIN honor Jarrett said "Providing opportunities and mentoring to others is the best way I know to pay forward all the support I have received. To be acknowledged for doing so, and for being proficient at work I love, is indeed a great honor".
Women's Image Network was founded by Actor / Producer Phyllis Stuart, and since 1993, Stuart and WIN have produced the women's image awards to honor outstanding individuals in politics, business, music and the media who promote gender parity through their creativity and leadership. In addition to applauding actresses, directors, writers, producers and films and television shows, The WIN Awards honor invited honorees who share WIN's mission to "Foster a World Where Everyone WINs®.
In addition to producing The WIN Awards show WIN also created and produced theater, networking events, a Primetime ABC Special FIFTY YEARS OF FUNNY FEMALES with John Ritter, Debbie Allen, Paula Poundstone and Annie Potts and The WINFemme Film Festival to promote independent films with female protagonists.
