The Work Truck Show® 2014 Offers Modern Solutions for Truck Fleet Managers
Registration Open for North America's Largest Work Truck Event
FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., Oct. 16, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Truck fleet managers can learn how the latest technology can improve operations and productivity at The Work Truck Show® 2014. North America's largest work truck event features more than 60 educational sessions, including the day-and-a-half Remote Fleet and Mobile Work Crew Management Technologies Symposium and a new Special Session covering winter road maintenance.
The Work Truck Show is held March 5–7, 2014, at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, IN. Educational programming, including the Green Truck Summit, begins March 4. The event includes the 50th Annual NTEA Convention.
"Our 50th year is a milestone, but The Work Truck Show 2014 is all about the future," says Mark Woody, NTEA 2014 Convention chairman and president of Palfinger North America (Niagara Falls, ON, Canada). "For the show and beyond, there is a real focus on new technology, equipment and ways of thinking that are necessary for industry professionals to thrive."
Fleet managers can learn best practices at the Remote Fleet and Mobile Work Crew Management Technologies Symposium. This popular course on March 4–5 has been updated to include a new focus on the use of remote tracking and measuring technologies. Instead of assigning a manager to every work crew or shop, fleet operators today can oversee progress, handle maintenance issues and take inventory from a single location. An array of modern mobile technology will be discussed, including GPS, telematics, software and credit cards.
The new Special Session: Indiana Local Technical Assistance Program Winter Maintenance Course is available for transportation managers and partners from any state. The two-hour interactive class includes material-spreading case studies to ensure attendees leave Indianapolis ready to face tough winter conditions. It is held March 4.
Other educational opportunities for fleet professionals include "Benchmarking Your Fleet Operations"; "Understanding Vehicle Certification – the End-User and Fleet Perspective of Risk Management"; "Developing Optimal Specifications for New Work Truck Bodies and Equipment"; "Is Your Fleet Ready for Vehicle Replacement?"; "Truck Fleet Managers: What's Keeping YOU Up at Night?"; "How to Inspire Loyalty and Effort in Your Team"; "Deploying Alternative Fuel Vehicles: Impacts on Your Fleet Operations"; "Determining and Managing Your Fleet Costs"; and "Tactics for Building a Dynamic, Cohesive Team."
Event highlights also include the Opening Reception at the JW Marriott Indianapolis on March 4 and the President's Breakfast & NTEA Annual Meeting featuring keynoter Condoleezza Rice on March 6.
