Therap Services to Provide Direct Claim Submission for Providers in the Developmental Disabilities Community
WATERBURY, Conn., Jan. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Therap Services has been
approved by Florida Medicaid to provide direct claim submission for
providers in the developmental disabilities community. The Electronic
Remittance Voucher (EVR) 837 Professional claims will be submitted to
Florida Medicaid via the ANSI EDI X12 standards. The direct claim
submission is a new feature in Therap's Billing module which lets providers
submit billing claims directly to Florida Medicaid and track their status.
"As part of our continuous process to improve Therap applications for
our users, the direct claim submission feature has been added to save users
from the hassle of using third party software to submit claims," said James
Kelly, Vice Chairman, Therap Services.
The direct claim submission feature in Therap's Billing module
eliminates the need for external billing software to submit claims. The
Billing module also maintains a list of different funding sources that are
paying for the services for each individual. Information such as number of
billable and non- billable service units can easily be entered and the
system will automatically calculate the number of remaining units and
amount remaining within the service authorization. Therap utilizes the
standard HCPCS codes for both the Medicaid and the HCBS Waiver programs for
service descriptions and service codes, and provides for inclusion ICD-9
diagnosis, diagnostic pointers and procedure codes for billing.
Florida Medicaid is changing their "Medicaid Management Information
System (MMIS)" agents from ACS EDI Gateway Inc. to Electronic Data System
(EDS) on March 1, 2008 under a new five (5) year contract and Therap looks
forward to continuing to work successfully these companies as a Billing
Agent.
