Thomas Sadler, CPA and NASBA Chair Named to Accounting Today's - Top 100
NASHVILLE, Tenn., Oct. 9 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Thomas J. Sadler, CPA and 2008-2009 Chair of the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) has been named one of the "Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting" by Accounting Today Magazine.
Sadler, a resident of Gig Harbor, Washington, is a 40-year veteran of the accounting profession. During his term as NASBA Chair, peer review transparency, enforcement practices and strengthening international accountancy regulation have been at the forefront of his core leadership initiatives. Prior to his role as Chair, Sadler served as the 2007-2008 Vice Chair of NASBA. He is also a past Pacific Regional Director, Director-at-Large and Secretary of NASBA. In addition, he is a past chair of the Washington State Board of Accountancy, and he currently serves as a strategic advisor to the Washington State Board of Accountancy.
Sadler is a member of the Washington Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs, and is past chair of the Washington Society's Litigation Services Committee. Among his numerous achievements, Sadler has earned specialty designations from the AICPA as "Accredited in Business Valuation" and "Certified in Financial Forensics." He is a Certified Fraud Examiner and a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
In addition to Sadler's numerous accomplishments, he is a past president of the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club of Lakewood and a former member of the Tacoma/Pierce County Economic Development Board.
A graduate of the University of Puget Sound, Sadler began his professional career in 1968 with Johnson, Paulson & Stolz (now Ernst & Young), becoming a CPA in 1969. He later joined Donald R. Brink in 1972, forming the firm of Brink & Sadler in Lakewood, Washington. Currently, Sadler serves "of counsel," since retiring from the firm in 2002.
