Thriving Again: After A 100 Year Hiatus, The Famed Dreamland Ballroom Of Martha's Vineyard Re-opens Its Doors
A 5300 square foot room that will serve as the show piece of the island and a downtown space for music, art, weddings, and community events
OAK BLUFFS, Mass., July 13, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Dreamland, a space with roots dating back to the turn of the century is, after 100 years, finding life again through the collaboration and efforts of renowned island restaurateurs JB Blau and Chef Alexander Nagi as well as local musician and curator Phil daRosa. Efforts and ideation on the Dreamland project started three years ago and the 'second life' of the famed event space comes at an opportune time with the unfortunate closing of Nectar's Entertainment Space (formerly Carly Simon & James Taylor's 'Hot Tin Roof'). With the closing of one door comes the opening of another; Martha's Vineyard is primed for a centrally located space to accommodate music, meetings, festivals and weddings and Dreamland will rise to that occasion with style and excellence.

"We have created an expansive, blank canvas which will transform into whatever best suits the scheduled events. The 5300 square foot room with sweeping views of Oak Bluffs will include a number of modular bars and lounges to encourage an intimate feel in the large space.
The newly restored and renovated room finds its identity as the new home of live music on the Vineyard as well as a premier wedding destination, a convenient and exciting corporate meeting and function space, a home for local and regional food festivals (with the Martha's Vineyard Chowder Company's full kitchen in the same building), a perfect setting for a private party, and most importantly a space for year round community engagement and activity.
