WASHINGTON, Aug. 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Thycotic, a provider of smart and effective privileged account management solutions for global organizations, announced today that James Legg has been named President and COO. Responsible for day-to-day operations, Legg will help create and execute growth strategies and initiatives designed to propel Thycotic to the next level in its evolution as the premier provider of privileged account management solutions for the enterprise.
"The opportunity to work with exceptional people producing outstanding technology in a rapidly growing organization does not come along very often," said Legg. "My goal is to help Thycotic become a household name in IT security. At the end of the day, it's all about results, and I have a huge advantage working in a rapidly expanding market segment that demands what Thycotic already produces - the very best tools available today that control and monitor privileged account credentials and identity access management."
Legg has amassed over 25 years of managerial and sales experience in guiding technology companies to accelerated, sustained growth. Most recently, he served as EVP and GM of Unitrends, Inc., after serving as CEO of PHD Virtual, acquired by Unitrends in 2013. Previously, he served as VP of worldwide sales for Idera Corporation, and was VP of sales at NetIQ Corporation, having come there via the acquisition of PentaSafe Security Technologies, a remote access, vulnerability assessment and intrusion detection solution provider. Legg's experience with rapidly growing technology companies dates back to his days at Peregrine Systems where he was a member of the management team that helped launch the company's IPO.
"We were looking for a very specific profile in our search for a President and COO: someone with a key understanding of our industry and a proven track record in running day-to-day operations in order to propel us to the next level of growth," said Jonathan Cogley, CEO and founder of Thycotic.
