     As part of a three-month test phase which targets multiple magazine
 subscription lists in a variety of applications, Time sent an email
 describing new functionality on their online customer service site to
 active readers of several magazines, including Fortune, Business 2.0,
 People, Sports Illustrated, Time, Teen People, Sports Illustrated for Kids,
 and Entertainment Weekly. Users were given various options to manage their
 subscriptions, such as renewing, paying bills, and making changes to their
 account information. Compared to the non-CertifiedEmail messages,
 subscribers who received CertifiedEmail messages showed the following index
 scores:
     * Click-through rate: 130 percent
     * Site login: 128 percent
     * Customer service option selected: 127 percent
     "The business benefits of CertifiedEmail - assured delivery of messages
 to our subscribers with all links and images presented intact - had a clear
 impact on results," said Ernie Vickroy, a marketing director at Time
 Consumer Marketing, Inc. "Trusted, authenticated CertifiedEmail messages
 resulted in higher click-throughs, and improved program response rates."
     The ability of Goodmail's CertifiedEmail service to drive response
 rates is based on the following features:
     * Assured delivery
     * Full functionality
     * Trust icon in the user inbox
     CertifiedEmail is Goodmail's service for restoring trust to email
 communications among volume email senders and their consumer recipients.
 Accredited senders with the best email practices can choose to send their
 marketing and transactional messages via CertifiedEmail, which imprints a
 cryptographically-secure token on outgoing email messages and lets
 participating ISPs and mailbox providers like AOL and Yahoo! assure
 delivery of those messages to the server-level inbox. Many ISPs today
 routinely disable links and images as a security precaution against
 phishing and other forms of email-based fraud. CertifiedEmail messages are
 clearly labeled and presented with all links and images and intact.
     "Commercial senders like Time understand the value of trusted email
 communications with their customers," said John Ouren, senior vice
 president of sales and business development for Goodmail Systems. "We're
 delighted to see immediate market evidence of the effectiveness of
 CertifiedEmail in lifting response rates and business results, and honored
 to be a part of their subscriber communications platform."
