    STATE COLLEGE, Pa., May 31 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --
C-COR.net (Nasdaq: CCBL), a global provider of broadband communications
technology, systems, and services, today announced that Time Warner Cable will
launch C-COR's Integrated Service Management (ISM) solution in its Tampa Bay,
Florida, system beginning in June. Time Warner Cable's Tampa Bay system
represents approximately 950,000 subscribers (the eleventh largest cable
system in the nation and the second largest within Time Warner Cable). The
component of the ISM suite of operations support software applications that
Time Warner Cable will initially launch is a cross-domain network surveillance
and fault management solution that provides proactive discovery and root cause
 analysis for enterprise-wide, hybrid, multi-vendor, and multi-service
environments. A live demonstration of Time Warner Cable's Tampa Bay ISM
solution will be shown in C-COR's booth # 6140 at the SCTE (Society of Cable
and Telecommunications Engineers) Cable-Tec Expo on June 4-7, 2002, in San
 Antonio, Texas.

Commenting on the launch of ISM in Tampa Bay, Hung Nguyen, Senior Staff
Engineer for Time Warner Cable's Engineering and Technology Division, stated,
"The scope of C-COR's ISM is unparalleled in terms of its reach into the
network and its sophisticated capabilities to tie device performance,
subscriber, and service together into a common, real-time, and responsive view
of the network. We anticipate achieving across-the-board benefits with ISM,
touching on cost efficiencies, service reliability, and marketing
opportunities. We also see ISM as a major driver in expediting standards
among equipment vendors. As Chairman of the SCTE HMS (Hybrid Management
Sub-Layer) Standards Committee, I have witnessed the significant strides
already made in adopting standards for interoperability between outside plant
transponders and headend controllers from multiple vendors. ISM will help to
move that process along by forcing open standards-based interfaces."
About the Time Warner Cable ISM Application
The Time Warner Cable ISM application proactively monitors and manages
alarms and service thresholds for both digital and HFC network devices from
the headend to the customer premise equipment. Network status information is
then integrated with other OSS (operational support systems) to provide an
integrated view of network, customers, and quality-of-service, allowing the
cable operator to manage the entire fault life cycle, from proactive detection
through resolution. In addition, by uniquely addressing the impact on
subscriber services of both detected network outages and predicted network
device failures, ISM not only reduces operational costs through improved
equipment information, but also provides the network operator with a powerful
tool to increase customer retention and expand market opportunities through
the delivery of highly reliable services.
The ISM solution is distinct from competing network management systems in
its next-generation functions for outage detection, outage prevention, and
outage impact analysis. Through a combination of real-time device polling
(that uniquely includes subscriber set-top boxes) and intelligent data
correlation and network configuration management capabilities, ISM enables the
isolation of network faults to specific root causes to determine not only
specific equipment failures, but also specific services and subscribers
affected by the equipment failures. In addition, ISM has predictive analysis
capabilities to detect performance anomalies in the network before problems
reach the point of affecting subscribers, thereby enabling proactive service
management and more efficient equipment maintenance programs. Finally,
through its capability to relate network outages directly to specific
subscribers and their services (a triple play of data, video and/or voice),
ISM offers the cable operator -- for the first time -- an accurate measurement
of outage impact down to the individual service and subscriber level.
About C-COR's Integrated Service Management (ISM) Solution Suite
The ISM portfolio of pre-integrated, yet modular (open) OSS applications
is designed to automate business processes used to maintain network integrity,
optimize resources, and deliver high-quality customer service. In addition to
the network surveillance and fault management application, C-COR's ISM
solution can also be expanded to include workforce management, network
configuration management, provisioning, and other applications with
significant benefit to both the operator and the subscriber.
