LOUISVILLE, Colo., Nov. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- As a result of record growth in
2004, a year in which the company doubled its business volume, TransFirst, the
nation's 12th largest provider of transaction processing services and payment
enabling technologies, has increased its Colorado headcount by 110. The
majority of the new hires came to TransFirst through a job fair it hosted at
its new divisional headquarters in Louisville on September 15.
TransFirst ranks as the nation's largest privately held credit and debit
card transaction processor and handles more than $18.5 billion in annual
processing volume for more than 150,000 merchants and 760 financial
institutions all over the United States. A majority of the company's
processing operations are handled out of its new Colorado facilities.
TransFirst moved into a new 73,000-square-foot facility at 371 Centennial
Parkway in Louisville, Colo., in October. As a result of the new hires,
TransFirst now employs more than 300 people in Boulder County.
"On November 1, we added more than $7.5 billion in additional annual
processing volume from more than 70,000 new merchant accounts, literally
overnight," said Marla Knutson, president of TransFirst's Agent Bank Division,
headquartered in Louisville. "This would not have been possible without the
dedication of the new employees that we have added to the operational team
following our job fair in September. Our new team members have responded with
phenomenal speed, skill and professionalism. We now process more than
185 million transactions a year at this facility and we are well-equipped for
 additional growth."

division of Cincinnati-based Fifth Third Bank Processing Solutions. The
transaction increased the company's size from $11 billion to $18.5 billion in
annual processing volume, advancing the company from 18th to the 12th largest
transaction processor overall, according to The Nilson Report's list of top
 U.S. bank card acquirers.
