Tripp Lite Appoints New Vice President of Retail Sales

    CHICAGO, Oct. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Tripp Lite, a world leader in the
 manufacture of power protection, announces it has appointed Steve Esser as its
 new vice president of retail sales.  Esser will report directly to Al Reckamp,
 executive vice president, and will be responsible for initiating strategic
 marketing plans including merchandising; consumer rebates and price
 promotions; and national advertising.  Esser will work closely with his sales
 team to increase profits and promote brand awareness.
     Esser joins Tripp Lite from Gemini Industries, Inc., a New Jersey-based
 company that serves the electronics industry, where he served as vice
 president and general manager of computer/office products.  Prior to Gemini,
 he was responsible for developing Tripp Lite's retail sales strategy.

     Prior to his initial employment at Tripp Lite, Esser served as vice
 president of sales for Beyond Technology.  Early in his career he held various
 sales management positions with Murata Business Systems, Epson America Inc.
