TrulyMAD Launches Three Holiday Season Events to Boost "Road to Empowerment: Africa" Campaign

BERKELEY, Calif., Nov. 24, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- TrulyMAD, the recently launched online marketplace connecting conscious consumers with unique charities and leading brands, today announced three holiday season events to bolster its "Road to Empowerment: Africa" campaign.

The campaign supports four charities positively impacting communities in developing countries through education, tools, skills, and low-cost initiatives. With each purchase of lifestyle apparel and accessories on the TrulyMAD marketplace, consumers automatically activate TrulyMAD to donate between 20-100% of its profits to the campaign charities. The actual percentage given from the sale of each product is called the TrulyMAD Factor.

TrulyMAD's first event – B[Lack] Friday –  will take place on Friday, November 27, during the busiest annual consumer retail day commonly referred to as Black Friday. Rather than "shop till they drop" consumers will be encouraged to make time to volunteer on Black Friday with local charities to help address the "lack" of support and resources for individuals in need. The TrulyMAD team will be leading the way by pausing its website during Black Friday to instead share their time with Bay Area charities.

TrulyMAD's second event – Giving Tuesday – will take place on Tuesday, December 1. During the course of the nationally recognized day of giving back, the TrulyMAD Factor will be upped to a record high of 75% for all brands and products.

TrulyMAD's third event – Xmas Advent – will take place from December 12 to December 20. For each of the nine days, TrulyMAD will offer consumers themed products at a sustained 50% TrulyMad Factor. Consumers can expect themes such as Made in USA focusing on products exclusively manufactured in the United States, Sustainable World featuring products made of sustainable materials, and Women Owned showcasing products from female entrepreneurs.

Throughout the holiday season, the TrulyMAD team will also offer its "Helping Hand" project where every order will result in a donation of 10 minutes of volunteer time by TrulyMAD employees and will be showcased on social media.
