Tube City IMS' Belgium Subsidiary Achieves VCA Certification; France Subsidiary Receives OHSAS 18001 Certification

PITTSBURGH, Sept. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Tube City IMS, a provider of products and services to steel mills and foundries throughout the world, today announced the Company's subsidiary's facility in Gent, Belgium has achieved VCA certification and its facility in Fos Sur Mer, France has achieved Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS) 18001 certification.

VCA (VeiligheidsChecklist voor Aannemers) is a health, safety and environmental recognition for contractors. This certification is recognized by the Belgium government's Veritas Office for this type of certification.

OHSAS 18001 is a standard for having a comprehensive safety management system in place. The standards include five major elements: Environmental Health & Safety Policy; Planning; Implementation and Operation; Checking and Corrective Action; and Management Review.
