Overall, the B.E.100s total 280 businesses, which include 100 industrial/service companies, 100 auto dealerships, 65 financial service firms and 15 advertising agencies. H.J. Russell & Company, No. 13 on the B.E. Industrial/Service 100 list, ranks as Georgia's top-grossing African American-owned industrial/service company. The construction and real estate development firm reported 2004 sales of $304 million. The Harrell Companies based in Atlanta ranked No. 5 on the B.E. Auto Dealers 100 list and is Georgia's largest African-American-owned auto dealership with reported sales of nearly $288 million. On the B.E. Advertising Agencies list, Atlanta-based Matlock Advertising and Public Relations ranks No. 9 with close to $49 million in billings. Anderson Communications, also located in Atlanta, ranked No. 11 with $41.5 million in billings. Citizens Trust Bank ranks No. 5 on the B.E Banks list with almost $331 million in assets reported for 2004. EARNEST Partners of Atlanta again ranks No. 2 on the B.E. Asset Managers list with nearly $14 billion in assets under management. Atlanta Life Financial Group Inc. landed the No. 3 spot on the B.E. Insurance list reporting $76 million in assets for 2004. Jackson Securities L.L.C. retains the No. 7 spot on the BE Investment Banks list reporting $36 billion in total managed issues.
