UCLA Anderson Forecast Presents: Prosperity for Mid-Sized Businesses
What's New and What's Important for 2005
WHAT: UCLA Anderson School of Management presents the quarterly
UCLA Anderson Forecast economic conference, "Prosperity for
Mid-Sized Businesses." Mid-sized enterprises represent a
crucial part of our business sector, as those who succeed in
their quest for growth to the next level will define what
the economic landscape will look like in the future. Where
are the opportunities? What are the potential pitfalls?
What will it take to achieve success in our uncertain
economy?
In addition to the economic prognostications for the nation,
the state of California and various regions within the
state, the conference will feature a keynote speech on
insights on mid-sized businesses, an executive roundtable
highlighting three mid-sized firms and the following two
panel sessions:
Financing Growth
* With the yield on risk so low, is this the year to
expand?
* How friendly are the traditional sources of capital? Is
private equity the right choice for mid-size companies?
Forewarned is Forearmed
* What are the best business opportunities in the years
ahead?
* Outsourcing doesn't always mean overseas: How can
mid-size companies here in California do the outsourced
work?
* Will this be the year of relief on the cost of the
ledger, or will it get even worse?
* What needs to be done to control costs and retain the
best people?
