Unisys and 21Vianet Team to Deliver New Edge Service Management by Unisys Solution in China Unisys cloud-based ITSM solution enables organizations in China to personalize delivery of IT support to employees, streamline IT operations and reduce management costs
BEIJING and BLUE BELL, Pa., April 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Unisys Corporation (NYSE: UIS) and 21Vianet Group, Inc. (21Vianet) (Nasdaq: VNET) today announced that they are teaming to deliver Edge Service Management by Unisys in China. 21Vianet will host the cloud-based IT service management (ITSM) solution in its data center facilities in China.
Because the Unisys solution is delivered via the cloud on an "as-a-service" basis, commercial and government organizations in China will be able to easily procure, and quickly implement, the Unisys service management solution from 21Vianet.
On April 1, Unisys announced that it has enhanced and renamed the ITSM solution.
Edge Service Management is a comprehensive, standards-based solution that enables IT organizations to focus on making employees more productive by better connecting IT services to related business processes and enabling users to view and initiate services based on their individual organizational roles. The Unisys solution uses prebuilt modules, advanced analytics tools and proven methodologies that enable clients to streamline service operations and reduce capital and operating costs by proactively managing both services and the underlying IT infrastructure, rather than simply reacting to service events.

Unisys will also team with 21Vianet in China to provide advisory, implementation and lifecycle management services for the solution. Edge Service Management by Unisys is targeted to be available in China in the first half of 2014.
Edge Service Management by Unisys is based on global Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) standards. Unisys can implement the solution for clients in China in half or less than the six-plus months that other ITSM deployments typically take. Available through an annual subscription, the cloud-based Unisys solution currently processes more than 600,000 service events per month for clients.
