United Now Offers Four Daily Nonstop Flights From its Hometown Airport To
CHICAGO, Sept. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- United Airlines (NYSE: UAL) today announced that it will begin a fourth daily nonstop flight from Chicago's O'Hare International Airport to London Heathrow Airport. The new flight starts on October 31, 2001 and will be flown with Boeing 767-300 aircraft. With this expanded service, United offers an early departure from Chicago, which allows customers connecting from key Midwest cities, same day travel all the way to London Heathrow. The flight is available for sale today and to commemorate the new addition, United is offering special economy class fares as low as $299 roundtrip*. "With the addition of this flight from Chicago to London Heathrow, travelers will benefit from scheduling flexibility and choice," said Graham Atkinson, United Airlines' senior vice president-International. "The new expanded schedule allows for a variety of convenient travel times and customers can benefit from a wide range of convenient connections at both Chicago and London Heathrow." United flight UA 948 will depart Chicago O'Hare at 8:30 a.m. and arrive in London Heathrow at 10:25 p.m. The return flight, UA 949, will depart London Heathrow at 1:20 p.m. and arrive in Chicago at 4:30 p.m. The planned flying time from Chicago to London Heathrow will be 7 hours and 55 minutes, while the planned flying time from London Heathrow to Chicago will be 9 hours and 10 minutes. United will offer Boeing 767-300 three-class service, featuring a configuration of 10 seats in United First, 32 seats in United Business, 71 seats in United Economy Plus and 80 seats in United Economy. United Airlines offers nearly 2,400 flights a day to 130 destinations in 27 countries and two U.S. territories.
