University of Southernmost Florida to open new campuses, offer new degrees
MIAMI, Oct. 16, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- On December 2, 2011, Dade Medical College purchased Southern Career College (SCC) – a Jacksonville-based private higher learning institution.
With the addition of new campuses as well as new programs up to the Master's level, SCC has undergone a name change and will now be called the University of Southernmost Florida (USmF).
The university's second campus will open in the city of Coral Gables. Admissions and Financial Aid offices, housed in the beautiful and historic former H&R Block building at 178 Giralda Ave., will open for enrollment in November; classes will start in January of 2013.
The first programs to launch at USmF will be Bachelor's degrees in Business Administration and Public Administration, as well as Master's degrees in Nursing Leadership and Nursing Education. A Bachelor's degree in Hospitality and Hotel Management will follow.
Further expansion will include a six-acre campus in the heart of the City of Homestead's historic district, with classes commencing in the summer of 2013.
