USA TODAY Remains Number One in Total Daily Circulation Local Print Edition, Digital Spur Continued Growth
McLEAN, Va., May 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- USA TODAY remained number one in total daily circulation in the United States, according to the latest Alliance for Audited Media (AAM) report released today. Total USA TODAY daily circulation grew to 3,255,157 for the period ending March, 31, 2014 which is up 94.4% year-over-year. Total circulation figures include daily print (1,824,925), digital replica (64,844) and digital non-replica (1,365,388).
USA TODAY's continued growth in overall daily circulation was led by USA TODAY branded local print editions as well as an increase in app usage. USA TODAY local editions began rolling out to 35 Gannett print and e-newspapers in October of 2013. This strategic effort gives expanded news content to local readers and broader opportunity for advertisers. Total local print editions of USA TODAY alone accounted for an increase of 650,204 in daily circulation. Digital non-replica circulation of 1,365,388 includes registered tablet and mobile phone app usage.
