Valicor Unites Successful Sister Divisions to Expand Services and Markets
Company will commercialize new industrial fluid technologies
CINCINNATI, Jan. 23, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Solution Recovery Services (SRS), United Waste Water Services (United), and their parent corporation, United Solutions, Inc. (USI), are strengthening their identities under a common Valicor name to accommodate continued growth. SRS and United have operated as sister divisions servicing the industrial fluid recycling and waste management market under the USI employee-owned holding company for many years.
Operating as one company with the same management team and employee ownership, Valicor will operate Valicor Environmental Services, LLC, which previously functioned as United, and Valicor Separation Technologies, LLC, which formerly did business as SRS. Valicor will also offer new product lines through its Valicor Renewables startup division.
According to Tom Czartoski , CEO, Valicor, Inc., all three Valicor divisions have a similar focus and a goal to service customers in an environmentally friendly and safe manner, creating an ultimate one-stop shop to manage each customer's environmental needs.
"As Valicor, we will strengthen our core competencies and scope of services while significantly expanding our corporate research and development capabilities to meet the growing global need for premium separation technologies." Czartoski said.
Valicor Environmental Services
Headquartered in Sharonville, Ohio, Valicor Environmental Services will continue to offer many of the same services that it offered in the past, which include accepting waste and recyclable materials in bulk or in container form.
Valicor Environmental Services has the capability to handle — but is not limited to – non-regulated petroleum contaminated liquids such as oil, machining coolant, diesel fuel, glycol and contaminated ground water. According to Dave Brown , Valicor Environmental Services president, the division is organized to help customers with various non-regulated waste disposal and recyclable needs.
The division recycles more than 1,000,000 gallons of off-spec used oil per month, processing it into on-spec fuel employed for energy recovery. Besides petroleum waste streams, Valicor accepts and processes many non-regulated waste streams such as inks, adhesives, graphite, and metal contaminated wash water.
Valicor Environmental Services operates five facilities that are ISO 14001 certified and recently opened new facilities in West Virginia and Alabama, allowing the company to reach new markets. The division has more than 120 team members, operates 45 trucks (mostly tanker trucks), and was voted the 5th best place to work in Cincinnati during 2011 and 2012 by the Cincinnati Enquirer.
"With a solid foundation of success, we have a very aggressive growth plan for the next five years," Brown said. "Our team is very excited about putting this plan in motion."
Valicor past and future
Between 1997 and 2012, United and SRS grew from two small companies to a firm with a customer base exceeding 4,000 clients and 225 employees operating in 16 states. Rapid growth of United and SRS caused the companies to overlap geographically and in their product offerings. Czartoski says that unifying SRS and United under the Valicor brand will benefit customers of both divisions by clarifying the company's mission and streamlining its product offerings.
"We intend to take this opportunity to better balance our product lines between the two divisions to create a more complete industrial fluid service organization focused on our core mission of sustainability," Czartoski said.
Valicor opened a new headquarters in Dexter, MI on September 7th, the new facility a three-fold expansion equipped with state-of-the-art fluid testing laboratories and a pilot development center. During 2013, Valicor will launch new technology platforms to further support new and existing clients:
- Patent pending algae oil extraction for renewable fuels at the company's Texas and New Mexico operations;
- Patent pending GENII corn ethanol technology suite to improve water reuse, energy conservation and co-product production; and
- Proprietary waste oil fractionation technology producing high quality reclaimed lubricant base stocks and fuels.
The Valicor team believes that sustainability starts upstream in industrial operations by recycling fluids for reuse, purifying them for alternative uses and extracting valuable products from process fluid streams. The cycle ends with an environmentally sensitive approach to managing the disposal of depleted waste fluids.
"Industrial fluids — primarily oils and chemicals – have become increasingly meaningful to profitability in manufacturing," Czartoski said. "New technology is needed to extend fluid life within industrial operations and to extract value when possible from waste fluids."
He added the Valicor team is committed to maintaining an entrepreneurial culture to foster leading edge innovation and growth.
Headquartered in Dexter, Michigan, Valicor delivers unparalleled performance in sustainable approaches to materials management, providing bottom-line savings to clients while enhancing their environmental stewardship. The company will operate three distinct business groups, Environmental Services, Separation Technologies and Renewables, concentrating on the advancement of its technologies in processes and fluid management to meet client needs now and in the future.
Valicor is 100 percent employee owned and services clients throughout the United States in the automotive, aerospace, aluminum rolling, alternative fuels, pulp and paper, power generation, steel and coating, and corn oil separation system industries.
