The new store, located at 161-19 Jamaica Avenue, is one of a dozen Verizon Wireless stores in Queens and incorporates a new interactive retail design inviting consumers to experience wireless voice, data, music and video services in a sleek, full-service environment. Store hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The store phone number is 718-262-0337. Features of the new store include:

• Integrated systems and operational enhancements designed to streamline the sales process and increase customer satisfaction.
• A check-in kiosk inviting customers to sign in on arrival and stay informed via monitors that track their place in the queue for service

Staffed by knowledgeable wireless professionals, the new store offers consumers a broad range of services and equipment including popular devices like the new DROID by Motorola, the world's first smartphone powered by Android(TM) 2.0, and service features like Verizon Wireless Friends & Family® which lets customers on eligible calling plans enjoy unlimited calling to up to 10 numbers on any network, anytime, anywhere in America without using plan minutes.

In addition, Friends & Family for Business and Verizon Wireless business solutions, like unlimited email and Web browsing plans, now are more convenient for local business people.

Store Manager Yolanda Peters is also encouraging area residents to join the company in its efforts to help survivors of domestic violence by bringing no-longer-used wireless phones to the store for donation to the company's HopeLine® phone recycling program. HopeLine collects used cell phones to be recycled or sold and donates the proceeds in the form of cash grants and pre-paid wireless phones to advocacy groups for use by survivors.

Verizon Wireless was the first wireless carrier in the nation to collect and recycle old cell phones, and has done so on behalf of survivors of domestic violence since January 1999 - first in New York and then across the U.S. This fall the company introduced UHopeLine at Queens College and seven other City University of New York campuses in the five boroughs, expanding its recycling efforts to college campuses.
