Versar, Inc. Awarded $2.5 Million Extension for Afghanistan Construction Management and Quality Assurance Work

SPRINGFIELD, Va., March 8, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Versar, Inc. (NYSE MKT: VSR) announced today that it has been awarded a $2.5 million subcontract extension from HDR, Inc., a global architecture, engineering, consulting and construction firm, for continued construction management and quality assurance operations in Afghanistan.  This current extension brings Versar's HDR subcontract total to just under $31 million and will allow Versar to continue to provide engineering support, construction management and quality assurance operations in Afghanistan through May 2013.  Versar has been providing construction management and quality assurance work in Afghanistan since 2006.
