LOS ANGELES, March 20 /PRNewswire/ -- It's up and away for RCA band
Vertical Horizon, whose latest album and single, "Everything You Want", are
proving everything the band could have hoped for. As the band continues an
extensive national tour, the album, Everything You Want, currently #40 on the
Billboard Top 100, has just been RIAA-certified gold, while the title track is
now the #10 most played song across the country (all formats combined). See
below for a complete listing of the band's current itinerary.
The chart success comes at a frenetically busy time for the New England-
based quartet. Vertical Horizon made an appearance on "The Tonight Show with
Jay Leno" on February 21, and is slated to perform live on "The Late Show with
 Craig Kilborn" on March 21.
Founding members Matt Scannell and Keith Kane formed Vertical Horizon in
1991 while students at Georgetown University in Washington D.C. The following
year, they released their debut LP, There and Back Again. As word spread, the
band landed increasingly more prestigious tours, opening for such groups as
the Allman Brothers, Better Than Ezra and the Samples. They also appeared on
the Aware II compilation. In 1995, Vertical Horizon released their second
indie album, Running On Ice. Drummer Ed Toth joined the lineup the following
year and performed on the band's 1997 release, Live Stages. Bassist Sean
Hurley signed up a year later, completing the lineup as it is today. Upon
signing to RCA, in early 1999, the band reissued its three previous LPs,
making their official major-label debut with Everything You Want later that
