VeruTEK Technologies Announces Research Partnership with University of Wyoming Enhanced Oil Recovery Institute
BLOOMFIELD, Conn., June 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The University of Wyoming's Enhanced Oil Recovery Institute (EORI) will evaluate the potential of VeruTEK's Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) products for improving oil production in Wyoming formations.
The research project will consist of bench scale testing and is expected to lead to field pilots with oil producers within the state. VeruTEK and the Institute will report lab scale results during the University of Wyoming's annual IOR/EOR conference. Producers interested in participating in the field pilot phase should contact Glen Murrell at firstname.lastname@example.org
EORI director David Mohrbacher expressed enthusiasm for the start of the project. "EORI's mission is to evaluate emerging technologies, such as VeruTEK's new gas generating chemicals, for use by Wyoming producers. We look forward to providing our consortium of area producers with reliable data relevant to the application of this technology at our September IOR/EOR conference."
VeruTEK oilfield chemicals combine plant-based solvents, nonionic surfactants and an innovative EOR Activator™ that generates heat and gas in place. These specialized chemical blends provide a higher performing and more broadly applicable alternative to harsh solvents, acids or caustics currently used in oil fields for drilling mud clean out; wellbore and near-field damage removal including clays, paraffins and asphaltenes; and advanced jetting and stimulation techniques.
VeruTEK CEO Dan Socci stated, "VeruTEK EOR fluids have improved production in multiple reservoirs in the Southwest and Midwest. We are very pleased to work with EORI and its world-renowned research team to demonstrate how our chemistry successfully addresses production impediments specific to Wyoming producers."
VeruTEK is a chemical company that formulates high performing products for oil, gas and environmental industries. The Company has years of experience applying plant based chemicals to extract heavy oils, tars and creosotes for the environmental field and is now applying that chemical expertise to address oil production challenges including wellbore and near-field damage removal and advanced stimulation through jetting and fracturing. VeruTEK works with oil producers to improve oil recovery by mobilizing heavy oils, removing formation blockages and increasing secondary porosity. The innovative blends can be applied to a wide range of formation types to achieve production increases averaging 20-50%.
