Stressing the value of the private sector as a driver of sustainable growth, she says: "I'd like to see companies adopt an impact agenda and to feel that there is credit given to doing good, to having an impact. Because if we live in a society where people, institutions and corporations are elevated for their goodness and ethical behaviour, not only their wealth, we are going to have a better society."

Speaking exclusively to IBLF for their 'Expert Insight' video series, the former Columbia Law School graduate spoke openly to Shivvy Jervis on the trust deficit in the private sector and the pressing need for a return to ethical business practices.

Describing the philosophy behind the Henry Jackson Initiative for Inclusive Capitalism - an initiative she co-chairs together with Global MD of McKinsey, Dominic Barton - she explains: "We aim to highlight the pathways the private sector can take that will increase the public sector's appreciation and buy-in of capitalism." She qualifies this however, stating they recognised that "some things have gone haywire" with the capitalist system.
