NEW YORK, Nov. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- BrodmannBlades(tm), maker of the first major innovation in the game of table tennis in over a hundred years, has reached an agreement with Paragon Sports(tm) to display and distribute its product line in the legendary retailer's flagship store in New York City. The Paragon Sports agreement is the first step in BrodmannBlades(tm) retail distribution strategy.

The BrodmanBlade(tm) eliminates the handle from the table tennis paddle. The unique new product consists of two blades, or hitting surfaces, that are worn like a glove on either hand. "It's a natural extension of the player's hand," said Alfred Brodmann, the product designer. "Players make forehand and backhand shots by using the front and back of their hands."

The patent-pending product was created and refined in 2008 before being test-marketed through specialty design shops and catalogs.

"We are excited to carry the innovative product and expect our customers to be interested in the two-paddle set as a unique gift," said Dave Weinstein of Paragon Sports. "It's a new twist to an old game that can get the whole family back on the ping pong table."

Brodmann has presented the product to the International Table Tennis Federation and received an enthusiastic initial reaction. According to Sporrer the BrodmanBlade(tm) represents the first revolutionary idea since the beginning of the sport in the late eighteen hundreds.
