Alexandra Cousteau, granddaughter of the world renowned explorer Jacques Cousteau and founder of Blue Legacy, an organization dedicated to water issues and conservation will visit important water sites on five continents. Her journey will chronicle the interconnectivity of water. She will show how local water use has a direct impact on the interdependent, global eco-system. "Expedition: Blue Planet" will create a new vision for what it means to live in a world where water is recognized as our most precious resource, and suggest a plan for what we must do to protect it.
"Water is a vital resource that should be clean, pure and accessible for everyone," said Alexandra Cousteau. "We live on a water planet. Water is the reason for our existence. And yet in spite of water's obvious and central importance to sustaining life on Earth, here we stand at the start of a new millennium with our most precious resource in critical condition across the globe."
"DASANI is a leading hydration brand, and as such, we recognize that conservation and stewardship of our precious water resources is a first-order priority," said
Cousteau and her "Expedition: Blue Planet" team will showcase a diversity of fresh water and marine environments -- from rain forests and jungles to deserts and oceans -- including:
