HOLMDEL, N.J., March 9, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Vydia, the flourishing New Jersey video tech startup empowering video creators to monetize, promote and distribute their content on one centralized platform, has tapped Rick Saporta as the Director of Data Science. Prior to Vydia, Saporta founded the Data Science department at video distribution startup, The Orchard, which played a vital role in the company's acquisition by Sony in 2015. The Data Science team is the latest addition for Vydia, which is being inundated by video consumption statistics and converting those statistics into meaning for their creators. The team is on track to grow to five members by the end of 2017 under Saporta's counsel and currently includes UPenn Computational Chemist, Michael Reca, who has a background in Natural Language Processing at CVS.
Vydia's Data Science team will dissect deep analytics and offer digestible data to over 130,000 creators worldwide, empowering them to not only manage their video content better, but smarter. With a multitude of options for publishing video content, Vydia provides a universal solution to help users navigate the fragmented video marketplace. The addition of the Data Science team will provide actionable insights on where creators should be focusing their efforts to strategically optimize view counts and increase earnings.
"Data science is a vital component for building innovative technology because of its ability to make predictions, understand things more deeply, and analyze how things relate to each other," explains Saporta. "At Vydia, Data Science will directly help creators to better understand the people they're attracting and leverage that information to get more attention for the work they're doing. It will also serve those who are consuming the content to find different creators that they didn't even know existed by predicting what kind of content they'd enjoy viewing."
As sibling to Gabe Saporta of Cobra Starship and Midtown fame, Rick is no stranger to the convergence of music and technology, both professionally and personally. His vast knowledge of the music industry landscape and eclectic passion for the constantly evolving trends in technology make him a dynamic addition to Vydia's rapidly evolving team.
"Since inception, Vydia has been one step ahead of the curve in the video technology space, says CEO Roy LaManna. "As our Director of Data Science, Rick Saporta will play a key role in the continuation of Vydia's growth and the addition of his team will enhance both our technology and user experience."
