About Virata's Hardware and Software Technology Platform
Magnesium bundles the powerful C54x DSP family from Texas Instruments with
Virata's vCore, a complete line of voice processing algorithms and control-
side device drivers under the Virata brand. This provides broadband equipment
developers with access to the industry's first Integrated Software-on-Silicon
 (ISOS(TM)) voice processing product.
Lithium is a highly integrated, single-chip solution, which features a PCI
interface and DMA controller. Integrating many common functions, Lithium is
designed for flexible, low cost, high-functionality, high-performance
products. It may be used in a PCI modem or ATM access device, customer
premises equipment (CPE) or central office (CO).
Virata's extendible vCore Framework ensures optimum performance in
multi-channel, multi-algorithm environments. The vCore product consists of
DSP software and host processor software for VoIP transcoding and telephony
processing functions, as well as computer telephony functions, allowing
customers to integrate this functionality into a single converged product.
