W+P to Launch Fully Integrated "Connect to America" Campaign in 2009
HERNDON, Va., May 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Visit Fairfax, the official tourism organization for Fairfax County, Virginia (www.fxva.com), has chosen White+Partners as its new agency of record. The DC area's largest independent communications agency will handle all advertising, brand marketing and public relations for the convention and visitors bureau through July 2012.
"This is a great opportunity for us to show how much we care about Fairfax," says Matt White, Chairman and CEO of White+Partners. "Fairfax County is our home -- we already know that this community has breathtaking natural wonders, amazing arts, beautiful parks and recreation centers, and history galore. Now is time for everyone else to discover what the locals have been enjoying!"
White+Partners will launch a full PR and advertising campaign later this summer highlighting the various ways business and leisure travelers can "connect" with Fairfax County. The campaign will include print, outdoor and online advertising, social media, special events marketing, and public relations.
"We're eager to share our community with travelers," adds Barry Biggar, President and CEO of Visit Fairfax. "Fairfax County is the perfect getaway right in the heart of Northern Virginia with sights and activities that take visitors from the 18th century to outer space with just about everything else in between."
"The travel and tourism industry has a huge impact on the economy of our area," says Mark Carrier, Chairman of the Visit Fairfax Board of Directors and Senior V.P. of BF Saul Company, Hotel Division. "We're excited to be working with White+Partners to highlight Fairfax County as a premier destination in the region."
White+Partners was founded more than 45 years ago by a stubborn group of visionaries who believed there was a better way than the "tried and true." By capitalizing on "the power of Washington" and focusing on the travel and technology industries, the agency has built an impressive roster of clients that include Luray Caverns, the Washington Nationals, Virginia Tourism, Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts, and TIA.
