Vote for Best New Flavor of Jelly Belly Bean

    FAIRFIELD, Calif., Aug. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Almost 200,000 suggestions
 for new flavors were submitted to Jelly Belly Candy Company, and now the
 public is invited to vote for the best original flavor concept at
 http://www.DreamBeanContest.com. Five finalists were chosen and their
 dreamy flavor ideas were posted on the contest site where fans will vote
 for the best one.
 
     The five finalist ideas are Honey, Sublime Chili Lime, Thai Ice Tea,
 Mojito and Acai Berry.
 
     "We had many enticing ideas, and it wasn't easy for our selection
 committee. The trend seems to be exotic, fusion flavors and concepts based
 on ethnic foods. The tie breaker for multiple entries with the same idea
 was a 50-word essay which is posted along with the flavor idea," said Rob
 Swaigen, director of marketing for Jelly Belly.
 
     Fans have just two weeks to enter before the August 31, 2008 deadline,
 one vote per day allowed. The winner with the dreamiest new flavor will
 receive a $10,000 cash prize and the chance to have his or her flavor
 become reality when it is made at the Jelly Belly company headquarters and
 factory in California.
 
     Entrants were required to design their perfect bean that included a
 flavor concept, name and even what the perfect Jelly Belly bean will look
 like. Each entrant designed colors on the inside and on the shell of their
 bean, including speckling if they desired.
