SAN FRANCISCO, April 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- More than 72 million Macs are in use worldwide. The new generation of Voxeet's award-winning mobile apps and desktop softphones is available today to Mac users running Mavericks 10.8 or later, freeing them from the fatigue and frustration of traditional audio conferencing while providing seamless call transfers between their computers, smartphones and tablets, including Android devices.
Voxeet 2.0 also now includes dial-in, which lets customers use public switched telephony network (PSTN) numbers in more than 40 countries. Dial-in also makes it fast and simple to conference in people who aren't Voxeet users yet. For example, people whose companies restrict downloading apps to their mobile devices or PCs can use the dial-in bridge to participate in Voxeet-enabled conferences – albeit without 3DHD call quality.
Dial-in is available in the U.S. via Voxeet's new relationship with Bandwidth, a provider of IP based and API driven voice network services. Other Voxeet partners enable dial-in for more than 40 other countries, including Australia, France, Hong Kong, Japan and the U.K.
Voxeet's mobile apps and desktop softphones provide 3DHD wideband audio, which minimizes call fatigue by eliminating annoyances such as asking people to repeat themselves. Voxeet's user interface and acoustic cues eliminate guesswork about who's speaking, even when multiple people are talking simultaneously. The advanced audio engine eliminates background noise, echo, talk over and differences in each participant's audio level.
"Mac adoption is much higher than average among the tech-savvy businesses that are Voxeet's biggest users, so the addition of a Mac client gives them a convenient, immersive new way to collaborate while expanding our addressable market," said Stephane Giraudie, Voxeet CEO and founder.
"We are witnessing an emergence of new, app-driven services from innovators like Voxeet," said Steve Leonard, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Bandwidth. "With Voxeet 2.0, they're providing people with a high-quality, intuitive and convenient alternative to traditional conferencing, something we are honored to have our nationwide IP voice network power."
Voxeet 2.0 mobile apps and PC softphones are available now for free from www.voxeet.com/download.
