Warm 106.9 FM Radio Reaches Out to Our Community's Most Vulnerable Children: Sandusky Radio's Quiet Legacy of Caring for our Community's Children
SEATTLE, July 11, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- In a tradition of quietly supporting the most vulnerable children of our community, Sandusky Radio's Warm 106.9 FM Teddy Bear Patrol joins in Multimedia Seattle's outreach to the youngest survivors of Domestic Violence in our community.
Donating Teddy Bears from the Warm 106.9 FM's Teddy Bear Patrol to Multimedia Seattle's Children's"A Bear for Me?" Program, the Warm 106.9 Teddy Bear Patrol, joins Multimedia Seattle's other critical community partners, including Virginia Mason Hospital and Medical Center, Auburn Regional Medical Center, the Horizons' Foundation, the Washington Dental Service Foundation, the CANLIS Family and CANLIS Restaurant, as a partner in this critical community outreach to our communities youngest survivors of domestic violence.
Filling a critical need in our community, Multimedia Seattle implemented the "A Bear for Me?" Program as an additional community service provided through Multimedia Seattle's Western Washington Domestic Violence Prevention and Outreach Program, to provide Infant and Toddler Domestic Violence Shelter Arrival Bags to vulnerable children entering Domestic Violence Shelters with their mothers.
Diana Key , MPAS, Director of Multimedia Seattle comments, "Multimedia Seattle's Children's"A Bear for Me?" Program provides necessary personal items for infants and toddlers as they are entering Emergency Domestic Violence Shelters, items such as diapers, baby wipes, a soft new baby blanket, a new pacifier and a beautiful new teddy bear to hold, items that will help comfort the children during a very vulnerable and traumatizing period in their lives.
The mission of Multimedia Seattle's Western Washington Domestic Violence Prevention and Outreach Program are to:
• Reduce infant and childhood mortality by physical violence and neglect
• Reduce homicide deaths by violence against women
• Reduce generational recurrences of violence against women and children
Warm 106.9 FM's Teddy Bear Patrol has been providing quiet outreach to our communities most critical organizations providing outreach, comfort and support to abused, vulnerable and critically ill children. Teddy Bear recipients have included Providence Hospice and Home Care of Snohomish County, Multimedia Seattle's Children's "A Bear for Me?" Program and our regional Police and Fire Departments.
