    BURLINGTON, Vt., April 6 /PRNewswire/ -- The US Open, the world's longest-
 standing snowboarding contest, will air on NBC for the second consecutive
 year. Be sure to catch the best snowboarding of the season on NBC this
 Saturday, April 9th from 2:00pm to 4:00pm EDT.
     With the potential to reach over 109 million households, the US Open event
 on NBC will enable millions of people to watch snowboarding history in the
 making as the world's best riders battle for a coveted US Open title in the
 rail jam, halfpipe and slopestyle competitions.
     As a part of the two-hour US Open show, NBC will be airing a half-hour
 special focusing on the lives of Burton professional snowboarders. Following
 top riders including Shaun White, Kelly Clark, Jeremy Jones and JP Solberg
 through their days filming, competing at contests and riding with friends on a
 powder day, the show takes an inside look at what it's really like to be a
 professional snowboarder.
     The special Burton segment during the US Open show is the first result of
 a long-term joint venture between Burton and leading Hollywood production
 company Mandalay Entertainment. In addition to future television specials and
 reality programming, Burton and Mandalay are developing a feature film that
 combines the storytelling aspect of major Hollywood productions with the
 excitement of the snowboarding lifestyle.
