    HIGHLIGHTS

-- Net Income in 3Q09 was R$ 218.7 million, 5.4% less than the same period for 2008;

-- Net Revenue reached R$ 440.4 million in the third quarter 2009, practically stable as compared with 3Q08, when this same item reported R$ 448.7 million;

-- Payout of profits to shareholders amounted to R$ 165.5 million, corresponding to R$ 1.098525 per share in the quarter;

-- 3rd Commercial Paper Issue in the amount of R$ 200 million with a maturity of 180 days. Demand was approximately 4.5 times oversubscribed. Remuneration cost declined from 115% of CDI (firm guarantee) to 106.5% of CDI (bookbuilding);

-- Capital increase of R$ 63.0 million, through the issue of 640,588 common shares and 730,937 preferred shares as a result of the goodwill premium paid by ISA Capital for the acquisition of the Company and the use by CTEEP in 2008 of the tax break arising from this same goodwill;

-- Abrasca Award for the Creation of Shareholder Value: On October 28, 2009 CTEEP was elected the company with the best model for the creation of shareholder value in the electric energy sector.
