Mar 12, 2007, 01:00 ET from Weber-Stephen Products Co.

    PALATINE, Ill., March 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Weber-Stephen Products Co.,
the world's leading barbecue grill and grilling accessories manufacturer,
unveiled nine new Ducane(R) gas grills as part of what company officials
say is the largest and most ambitious new product launch in their 54-year
history. The company introduced an additional 14 gas grills under its Weber
brand moniker for a total of 23.
Available in stores spring 2007, Ducane unveiled a brand new line,
Affinity(TM), with six new models, and revitalized the brand's popular
luxury Meridian(R) line with three new grills. All are available in LP and
natural gas models. MSRP pricing ranges from $349 for the entry level
Affinity to $1,999 for the top-of-the-line Meridian.
Since acquiring Ducane Products Co. less than three years ago, Weber-
Stephen has improved Ducane grills -- with an upgraded cooking system, a
wider variety of features, and better materials.
"Consumers can be secure in knowing that Ducane grills are made of
dependable, quality materials, and our products are strongly supported by
its parent company's real-person, real-time customer service," said Ducane
Brand Manager Ernie Boys. "Unlike competitor grills in Ducane's price
range, we don't skimp on materials or features, and that gives consumers
the biggest bang for their buck -- they can be secure in knowing that they
are getting the best -- and they won't be abandoned after the sale."
     Ducane Affinity Line
With six new models (three in its 3000 series and three in its 4000
series), Ducane's Affinity(TM) line starts with the affordable Affinity
3100(TM) (MSRP $349) that features three burners, a large 550 square inches
of total cooking area (418 square inches of primary cooking area, 132 for
the warming rack area), an impressive 36,000 BTUs, and large side tables.
As consumers move through the Affinity line, they'll enjoy even more
features. The top of the Affinity line, the Affinity 4400(TM), is priced at
an incredible $549 and features four primary burners with 48,000 BTUs, 605
square inches of total cooking area (438 primary and 167 for the warming
 rack area), a 12,000 BTU flush-mounted side burner, a 12,000 BTU tubular
blue flame rotisserie burner and Rotis-A-Grate(R) cooking system with
Smoke-It Tray(R) to use with wood chips or chunks that impart wonderful
flavors -- such as hickory and mesquite -- to grilled foods. The rotisserie
attachment includes a motor, shaft, and two forks.
"This is a solidly built grill with lots of practical features -- and
at $549 and backed by Weber-Stephen Products Co.'s legendary customer
service -- it's a very smart buy," said Boys.
All Ducane Affinity models come in LP (tank not included) or natural
gas (NG) models. The NG models are an additional $20 more per model and
 include a 10-foot flexible hose.
     Ducane Meridian Line
For the consumer who wants the best, there's the Ducane(R) Meridian(R)
line. The three new models are made up of 304-grade, brushed stainless
steel that is fabricated, welded and hand polished. Priced at $899 (MSRP)
for the Meridian three burner, $1,299 for the five burner, and $1,999 for
the five burner with warming drawer, these grills are packed with features.
These include expansive cooking areas; twin side burners; electric warming
drawer; storage drawer; infrared rear rotisserie burner; rotisserie
attachment; and genuine granite work surface insets. The highest-end,
Meridian 32" five burner with warming drawer also comes with chafing dishes
to keep food ready to eat up until the time the whole grilled meal is ready
to serve. All Meridian grills are available in LP or NG models.
"The Ducane Meridian series has the ultimate in luxury feature bells
and whistles -- yet it's priced lower than the top-dollar mark for what
grilling enthusiasts typically pay for them," said Boys.
Ducane Products Co., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Weber-Stephen
Products Co., is headquartered in Palatine, Ill. Ducane Affinity and
Meridian gas grills are available at select home centers, hardware stores,
department stores, patio stores, and other retail outlets. The Ducane
Stainless Series models, introduced in 2006, are available exclusively at
