What Does Boomer Esiason Have to Do with Life Insurance? WholesaleInsurance.net Plans to Find out During Life Insurance Awareness Month 2013
ROSEVILLE, Calif., Aug. 22, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- WholesaleInsurance.net, a leading national provider of online life insurance quotes, is proud to announce its participation in the upcoming Life Insurance Awareness Month.
To help educate Americans on the need for life insurance, the nonprofit LIFE Foundation coordinates Life Insurance Awareness Month every September. More than 100 of the nation's leading insurance carriers and industry awareness groups participate, including WholesaleInsurance.net.
Created in 2004, the event features a yearly theme and celebrity spokesperson whose life was affected by a parent's decision to buy—or not buy—life insurance. This year's spokesman is Boomer Esiason, whose mother died when he was only 7. Since she did not have life insurance, Boomer's family experienced financial hardship as a result. A father himself, Esiason now hopes to educate parents on the difference life insurance makes when a family has to say goodbye to a loved one too soon.
This year's theme is "Life Happens." As Boomer Esiason's story shows, families don't plan on losing loved ones. But when it happens, a lack of preparation often leads to financial insecurity. Ironically, the fear of financial insecurity is what often causes families to ignore the need for life insurance in the first place. When LIMRA surveyed consumers on the reasons they don't buy life insurance, 85% said it was "too expensive."
"Most consumers drastically overestimate life insurance rates," says Ryan Pinney, Vice-President of Sales
